The Supreme
Court stayed the ongoing counselling and admission process in IITs, NITs and
IIITs, besides government-funded engineering colleges, questioning the validity
of the decision to award 18 bonus marks to all students for wrong and vague
questions in the joint entrance examination (advanced) paper. The court's
decision comes even though 33,000 candidates have already taken admission so
far this year..
The Supreme
Court refused to entertain a plea against a Tamil Nadu government order
reserving 85% of seats in MBBS and BDS courses for the state board students and
only 15% for those of other boards, including the CBSE.
Political
